Saint Saved from Slaughter

Last Christmas Eve, Saint was horse #79. He, by no fault of his own, had found himself in the worst place for a horse to be…a killpen headed for slaughter if the price on his head was not met. A beautiful life, which would soon end, as he would be killed and sold for meat. An unwanted, sad, malnourished horse, described as “a dream to ride and easy to handle”.

We didn’t expect a giant, skinny horse for Christmas. But sometimes the greatest things in life come along when you least expect them. .

Saint suffers from Lyme disease, arthritis, and needs to gain about 300 pounds.  He is receiving the care that he deserves and is enjoying life as a retired Amish work horse.
